Crushing

Noong bata ako, probably when I was in my grade school years, I used to like watching anime shows a lot! When I say a lot, it means that I watch them almost 24/7. Anime was my life back then. Sobrang adik ko talaga sa kanila.

I was a volleyball player when I was in grade school. I liked playing volleyball so much but not as much as I like watching anime. I remember missing the varsity tryout in volleyball because it will be held at 7 in the evening, which is unfortunately the same time as Dragon Ball Z. I sacrificed the tryout just to see my beloved Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and my ex-husband Trunks. (yeah he's my husband before, well at least in my dreams he was!) Oh wait! Wala pa nga pala si Trunks doon sa Dragon Ball Z noong time na pinapanood ko yun noon! Oh well, alam ko na naman na character siya sa Dragon ball before pa siya nagpakita because I researched beforehand. Hehehe...

Kung patay na patay na ako kay Trunks, wait 'till I say Dennis. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! Mas patay na patay ako sa kanya noon! 'Dennis' is Kurama (in japanese) and is one of the main characters of Ghost Fighter or Yu yu Hakusho (in japanese) that became a popular anime series here in the Philippines. How popular you ask? Hmmm... SOBRA! As in para siyang inauguration ni Obama pero araw-araw nga lang pinapalabas. Sa sobrang in love ko kay Dennis, eh naging Dennis na nga ang nickname ko for a couple of months kasi puros siya na lang ang binabanggit ko. As in head over heels talaga ako sa kanya! I used to kiss his poster and even pray for him! Goodness! Thinking of what I was like before (yung patay na patay ako sa kanya na kapag tinawag siyang 'Taong Bobo' instead of 'Taong Lobo' eh nananapak na ako) gives me chills right now kasi parang ang weird, bayolente, at most importantly ang stupid ko noon. Natatawa na nga lang ako eh. Pero when I share this with my classmates and friends, it's funny and relieving at the same time to find someone who also went 'gaga' din over Dennis when they were kids. Sa apat na characters nang Ghost Fighter, it seemed that Dennis is the most favorite one.

Dennis was not my first crush though. I remember liking Quatre Raberba Winner first before Dennis. Nauna kasi atang ipinalabas ang Gundam Wing kesa sa Ghost Fighter. Head over heels din ako sa kanya pero not as head over heels as with Dennis. Hehehe... Then after niya si Trunks nang Dragon Ball.

I also remember having a crush on Faye Valentine nang Cowboy Bebop. Gosh! She's a girl alright, but she's so damn HOT! I can't help but fall for her! With that body of hers, it's impossible for her not to get what she wants!

My 'teen years' crushes were my longest crushes siguro kasi hanggang ngayon sila parin ang crushes ko. Hehehe...

First is Akira Sendoh of Slam Dunk. Siya ang may pinaka mataas na probability na sagutin ko kung maging tao siya at ligawan niya ako. Hahaha! He's so cool. I like him because he's so good with basketball. I believe na siya ang pinaka magaling sa basketball sa buong Slam Dunk world and I also believe that he's got the most stylish hairstyle sa lahat nang characters sa Slam Dunk. May tatalo pa ba sa uber spiky hair niya? I don't think so!

My next crush is Spike Spiegel nang Cowboy Bebop. I must admit, nag se-selos ako kay Julia na naka relasyon ni Spike dati. Hehehe... Napaka weird ko talaga. I like him because magaling siya sa martial arts and he's got this uber cool space ship called the Sword fish. He's a big fan of Bruce Lee (so am I) and looks good with those Lupin inspired shoes.

Ang last kong crush eh si Sousuke Sagara nang Full Metal Panic at nang Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. I like guys in the military (maybe because I like to join the military someday) and are tacticians. This does not necessarily means na gusto ko eh mga buff o mga maskulado. Actually gusto ko nang mga may abs kasi gusto ko lang firm ang abdomen area nila, pero after kong pisil pisilin saglit eh nagsasawa narin ako at maya maya pa'y bubugawin ko na sila. (bubugawin means na I'll shoo them away hindi yung bugaw na ibebenta ko sila as prostitutes ha!) I like to marry Sousuke if ever na maging tao siya. Hahaha! This is only because siya lang siguro yung pro-protekta sakin (using his weapons of course. hahaha!) and at the same time the one who will treat me not as a girl but as a comrade in a battle. Gusto ko kasi yung ganoon. I mean ayoko yung pa-special treatment ako sa ka-partner ko dahil lang girl ako. Gusto ko yung parang same gender lang kami o parang same level lang kami. Walang stronger or weaker sex samin.

Kung dito ka lumaki sa Pinas at naabutan mo pa yung start nang invasion nang mga anime series dito, tingin ko nagkaroon ka narin nang crush kahit sa isang anime character. Tell me about it! Nyahahaha! You're no strange! Kasi ang strange eh yung nag deviate lang sa statistical norms, meaning yung walang kaparehas! Eh meron! Ako! Hahaha! So you're no strange person! (so I guess I'll have to retract my statement above, yung sinabi kong weird ako)
